Whilst both the immediate and longer term effects of the Covid pandemic continue to unravel, the market for outstanding Senior Executives is now increasingly active and whilst volatile in some business sectors, real opportunities to find your next major role are emerging.
Despite the effects of the holiday season several Search Consultants have clearly intimated that they are already focused on building towards a very busy Autumn.
As specific examples, we understand the Ports/Logistics sector is said to be ‘Red Hot’. Lots of activity, lots of business and plenty of senior hires being made globally.
The Mining sector in several global regions is very buoyant, as are Renewables and the Energy sector, particularly on the NED side.
Consulting and Investment Bankers / Wealth Management sectors are clearly areas of demand for Senior Executives with proven transformation and growth expertise. Major Management Consultancy firms have seen a consistent market pick-up through Q2 .
Food Security and senior positions within the Hospitality Industry have also increased, which is not unexpected given the obvious exodus the space encountered over the last 18 months.
Search Consultants are consistently keen to engage with candidates within the SaaS space, particularly if paired with Private Equity. The demand in these sectors is clear in the UK, Switzerland and New York.
Financial and Professional Services are areas of increasing activity and post acquisition integration activity is a rapidly expanding sector reflecting existing and anticipated deal volumes.
An Overview
The market clearly continues to improve with Senior Executive positions in a number of business sectors and many of the global markets where the pandemic is increasingly under control. The demand for C-Suite/VP roles in sectors including IT, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Financial and Professional Services is growing.
