Senior Executive Market Updates – Very busy Q4 as predicted
The 15,000 strong InterExec network of global search consultants continue to report a very strong market across many of the key business sectors and geographic regions. A clear indication that if you are searching for, or even considering, a new senior executive role, the current market provides a positive indication that this is an ideal time to start that process.
Comments from just two search consultants in the last few days:
“Market is definitely positive at the moment post Summer holiday season with lots of activity and the senior end is very encouraging”
“Things are burning hot on our side, we have never had so many projects…”
A number of sectors and disciplines including the following are very active, but opportunities are not limited to these only:
Disciplines
CEOs.
CTO/CIOs.
CFOs.
HRDs.
Sectors
Consumer/Retail.
Industrial.
Private equity.
Technology.
Energy.
There is of course some variation in the rate of improvement notably by region and sector.
For example, growth in the APAC region remains slightly sluggish due to a slower than expected post-pandemic recovery from China having a knock on effect to the rest of the region.
However, investment in the Middle East remains very high and speaking cross-sector, it continues to represent the market with the highest growth potential in the short to medium term.
In terms of sector, investment in the tech space seems to be recovering following the turmoil caused by the SVB/Credit Suisse crisis earlier in the year, however there is still some way to go for investor confidence to get back to where it was pre-pandemic.
Larger organisations in IT services and related spaces have clearly levelled out following a period of right sizing.
There is a great deal of activity in the broad financial sector. Investment banking appears to be opening up again especially in the US and there is clearly an injection of life into the M&A market.
The wealth sector and specifically the entire compliance and regulation sectors are currently active.
The areas of climate change, biodiversity and sustainability mean that ESG in its broadest context is increasingly important for organisations across the major geographic regions and the search for experienced senior executives is consequently strong.
From technology to legal, from business transformation to capital market advisory the InterExec network are reporting a level of activity which supports a positive outlook through Q4 and into Q1 2024.
Finding the right search consultant with the most appropriate job opportunity to match your objectives in this unadvertised and often politically complex marketplace is one of the key InterExec skills.
